3 Easy Christmas Treats

December 22, 2020 Laura Hawkyard
IMG_3924.jpg

When I started this blog, I had this idea that it was going to be incredibly varied. I imagined recipes, crafts, travel, (lol, anyone remember travel?) and interior stuff. Little did I know that 95% of my posts would be food-related and 80% of that 95% would revolve around chocolate.

And if you think that I’d come to that realisation and be like “Laur, come on, we need to change it up, let’s think of some different Christmas content” well, you’d most definitely be WRONG!!

Here we are, yet another chocolate-filled food post, and you know what? There's not a single bit of shame.

Oh heeeeeeeey! Remember me? How on Earth are you all?

Well, this year has been a bit mental hasn’t it? My last post was at the start of the first lockdown and never in a million years did I think we’d now be right in the middle of Lockdown 2.0. But hey, all we can do it get through it and I’ve decided to get through it by fully immersing myself into all things Christmas. And yes, I KNOW IT’S NOVEMBER, but sometimes you’ve just gotta do what you gotta do. And I gotta do Christmas!!

So I am here to help you get through this weird, wonderful and very different Christmas we’re going to have this year. And what better way to start than with one of my favourite recipes. This Nutella Puff Pastry Christmas Tree is insanely quick, insanely easy but, most importantly - insanely delicious. I don’t think I’ve ever made one that has lasted longer than 15mins, and there are so many different variations you can try.

So what are we waiting for?! Let’s do this.

Ultimate Easter Brownies

April 5, 2020 Laura Hawkyard
IMG_9092.jpg

I LOVE Easter baking, although that’s probably because I have an unhealthy obsession with Mini Eggs. Aaaaaaah Mini Eggs, man! Any excuse for me to put them in a recipe and those bad boys are in there.

Now I’m going to be completely honest; the amount of chocolate in these brownies is so obscene, it should be illegal. But hey, who would want it any other way?

Are you ready for this chocolate-filled taste sensation?

Let’s do this…

Okay, okay, okay. So… I CANNOT BELIEVE I HAVE NEVER COME ACROSS THIS BEFORE! As you can tell, I’m a smidge excited about this post. When I saw it pop up on my timeline; my first thought was, “Naaaaah, there’s no way that this will work and if it does work, it’ll probably taste awful”.

How wrong I was.

This dough is made from two ingredients. Two. dos, deux, due, bloody TWO!! It is so versatile and actually tastes good.

So let’s get to it. Here is our 2 ingredient dough…

January Funk

January 27, 2019 Laura Hawkyard

I think I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Januarys.

I am ALL about the ‘New Year, New Me’ thing. I mean, I know it gets a load of stick and the majority of people who hear it will start banging their head against the nearest wall. But really, what’s so bad about it? If ‘New Year, New Me” is the reason that someone now has motivation that previously didn’t, whats so wrong with that? If someone who’s had a bit of a rubbish 2018, or even an average 2018, wants to use the ‘NYNM’ thing as a fresh start and to maybe give them a kick up the arse, why should anyone have a problem with that?

What the F Is Hygge?! And Why It's so Great!!

April 1, 2018 Laura Hawkyard
IMG_0658.jpg

I can’t remember when I was first introduced to Hygge. I don’t how I discovered it or who first told me about it. All I know is that my life hasn’t been the same since.

I don’t mean as life changing as, say moving abroad, getting married or meeting a member of Steps (ordered in least to most life-changing). It’s all the little things and the slight changes that have had a HUGE impact on my life. Ultimately, I’m a lot happier.
